D.P. Associates and MPRI Combine to Form the Training Systems Group

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — November 23, 2009 — L-3 MPRI, a global leader in ground vehicle,  maritime and airport ramp simulator products as well as training services and turnkey training facilities, today announced that it has added the expertise of L-3 D.P. Associates Inc. to MPRI’s Simulations Group to form the MPRI Training Systems Group. The new entity will provide total training solutions that include world-class human performance assessments, curriculum development,  advanced distributed course development, instructor-led engagements and state-of-the-art simulation-based training under one roof. The Training Systems Group is uniquely positioned to deliver comprehensive educational programs tailored for every aspect of global logistics centers. The companies’ blended training solution can teach individuals the skills necessary to operate ships at sea and in ports, to man the cranes that load and unload them, to drive the trucks that haul the cargo containers and drop them at rail terminals or distribution sites, and to carry out all of the support services that feed this enterprise.

Since 1986, D.P. Associates has been a recognized leader in the design, development and implementation of interactive multimedia instruction and training curriculum delivery via Web-based applications.
The company, which previously focused primarily on flight-related training for the Department of Defense, now with MPRI’s Simulations Group will expand to meet the needs of a variety of markets. Dennis Corrigan, the president of L-3 D.P. Associates Inc., now leads MPRI’s Training Systems Group.

“Our vision is to be recognized for excellence in delivering lifecycle training solutions that measurably improve the performance capabilities of individuals where it means the most: on the job,” said Dennis Corrigan, senior vice president and general manager of MPRI’s new Training Systems Group. “By combining expertise and resources, MPRI and DPA are uniquely positioned to offer customers a turnkey source for total training solutions of every size and scope.”
