Anti-Corruption

Corruption, fraud, waste and abuse are corrosive spoilers that undermine efforts to promote good governance and development. MPRI includes anti-corruption efforts in virtually all of its international programs, carrying out capacity-building on both enforcement and prevention of corruption. Under the ICITAP contract, MPRI implements a range of anti-corruption programs for USAID and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.  These targeted programs address institutional transparency in countries such as Indonesia, Tanzania, and Malawi, to name a few.  Additionally, we have assisted government institutions to establish inspector general offices within ministries and agencies to identify fraud, waste and corruption in both stable and unstable environments.  Our anti-corruption programs use tools ranging from training and technical assistance to knowledge management and systems development.  Regardless of the focus of our work with government bodies, we incorporate anti-corruption and transparency into our projects.  Throughout our Department of State and Department of Defense funded projects in Africa, the Balkans and the Middle East, participants learn to integrate local culture and international standards of conduct into their stewardship of government institutions.
