Rapid Response
MPRI’s longstanding provision of personnel, equipment and materials around the globe has allowed us to optimize the effectiveness of our own and our partners’ rapid response systems, procedures and capabilities. In turn, we have successfully and quickly responded to the needs of the U.S. Departments of State, Defense and Justice. MPRI is flexible and innovative in its thinking and abilities to respond to opportunities and challenges as they arise. MPRI has implemented hundreds of task orders that require immediate recruitment, deployment and support of personnel and materiel to remote locations in countries with inadequate infrastructure and limited local capacity. Two primary vehicles under which MPRI performs such functions are the Department of Justice’s International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) and the Department of State’s ACOTA and GPOI peace building programs. From recruitment and training to procurement and logistics, MPRI provides fast, responsive solutions even in the most difficult, unpredictable environments.
Stability Operations and Reconstruction
MPRI is a leader in managing civilian programs for Stability Operations and Reconstruction in post-conflict situations. Our experienced program managers coordinate teams across a broad range of reconstruction functions, including infrastructure reconstruction management, conflict management and mitigation, security and justice sector reform, capacity building and training. We have most recently supported stabilization and reconstruction efforts in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans.
Civilian Surge Capability
MPRI draws on a pool of over civilian and retired military and law enforcement professionals, who can be deployed individually or in teams to address technical, development and emergency needs following disasters and post conflict. MPRI and its partners have experience working the military, civilian and non-governmental organizations; international and national agencies and donors; and national and local governments facing crises and emergencies. We are able to address a full range of requirements for technical experts and pride ourselves on our ability to mobilize, deploy and stand up post-conflict and disaster specialist teams and programs through our 24-hour standby system. In addition to addressing existing emergencies, our teams also provide training and capacity building in risk assessment and management and disaster preparedness.
Disaster Assistance & Management
In addition to our extensive training and technical assistance available to military and law enforcement agencies, MPRI works closely with US and host country governments to prepare for and respond to disaster situations. Our assistance is aimed at improving governments’ and communities’ capacity in planning, prevention, mitigation and recovery services for populations affected by natural disasters and complex emergencies. Through training, technical assistance, policy and procedure development, and exercises, MPRI experts offer support in risk and vulnerability reduction, food security, community preparedness, surge capacity, and relief supply and distribution.
