L-3 MPRI Presented Meritorious Honor Award by the U.S. Department of State
ALEXANDRIA, Va., September 29, 2011 – L-3 MPRI, a global provider of integrated training solutions, announced today that the U.S. Department of State (DoS) has presented the Meritorious Honor Award to members of L-3 MPRI serving on the Afghanistan Civil Information Management (CIM) contract. The DoS Meritorious Honor Award is given to groups or individuals in recognition of a special act or service, or sustained outstanding performance. The award was authorized by Karl W. Eikenberry, former United States ambassador to Afghanistan. The team received the award for exceptional, selfless service to the Afghan people through support of programs and projects improving their quality of life and for their contributions to other critically important U.S. interests in Afghanistan.
“We commend our members of the CIM team, who have tirelessly supported Afghanis in creating self-sustaining capabilities within their country,” said Doug Fouser, senior vice president and general manager, Military Services Group, L-3 MPRI. “L-3 MPRI is proud to provide the Combined Joint Task Forces with a fully coordinated program to meet operational, training and sustainment parameters, and we are pleased to receive this distinction from the Department of State.”
The CIM team works to provide information management services in support of the Combined Joint Task Forces (CJTF) civil military operations and activities at Bagram Air Field and other forward operating bases. The L-3 MPRI CIM team is responsible for the day-to-day administration of CJTF CIM policy, including coordination with interagency representatives and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
