L-3 MPRI Wins Single-Award Contract to Deliver U.S. Army Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Program Support Services

ALEXANDRIA, Va., November 8, 2011 – L-3 MPRI, a global provider of integrated training solutions, announced today that it has received a single-award contract to deliver support services for the U.S. Army Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) program. The period of performance includes phase-in from November 1 through December 31, 2011, a base year from January 1 through October 31, 2012, plus four one-year options. The total value of the contract is $41.97 million, if all options are exercised.

L-3 MPRI will provide all personnel, including instructors, role players, and supervisory and support staff; supplies; and other items and services necessary to support the development, administration, execution and instruction of the U.S. Army SERE Level C Course at Fort Rucker, Ala.

“We are pleased to continue our more than 20 years of support for the U.S. Army with this mission-critical training contract,” said Doug Fouser, senior vice president and general manager of L-3 MPRI’s Military Services Group. “Our team is exceptionally positioned to support Fort Rucker’s curriculum with training in evading capture, survival skills and the military code of conduct.”

Designated as the Army Aviation Center of Excellence in 2008, Fort Rucker serves as the headquarters for Army Aviation. Successful completion of the 21-day SERE training course is required of all flight students prior to beginning Initial Entry Rotor Wing (IERW) training. Additionally, other personnel from across the services who hold occupational specialties that could expose them to a high risk of capture may also attend the course.
